Remembering the Stonewall riots
Updated: Oct 21, 2020
In 1969, a police raid at the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village spurred a series of spontaneous demonstrations by members of the gay (LGBT) community. The riots are widely considered to constitute one of the most important events leading to the gay liberation movement and the modern fight for LGBT rights in the United States.
Playhybrid was honored to have been able to commemorate the 50th anniversary of this important event by bringing this moment to life in augmented reality for The Huffington Post and its partner Ryot. The experience placed the user at the center of the riots where first-hand audio testimonies of participants and law enforcement can be accessed.
Our Chewi Technology optimized rendering, making this high quality 3D experience easily accessible for any device and any network.
